The nearest re-compression chamber is in Denpasar in Bali, 2½ hours flight south west from Wakatobi. Treatment in Bali is not covered so divers should have their own dive insurance policy - see our insurance programme for a competitive quotation.
Wakatobi Dive Resort has oxygen on site, and there is an established evacuation procedure with an air rescue company. This is covered by Wakatobi's own insurance policy.
One divemaster is provided for every six divers. There is a local hospital on the neighbouring island for common injuries.

The resort features on-site security and a wide range alert network. Wakatobi is one of the most remote outposts in the world so is not known for loitering hoodlums on the island!
